Line Therapist Training
Line therapists must have at a high school diploma, be 18 years of age, be CPR certified, and pass background checks. Project HOPE Foundation provides the following training before the line therapist begins work with clients:
- 20 hours of online Skills® training
- 20 hours of additional training with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, covering topics such as: basic principles of ABA, HIPPA compliance, the definition of autism, procedures for teaching new skills, strategies for reducing problem behavior, etc.
- 2-3 days of overlaps with trained staff
Prior to being placed on a therapy team, the line therapist must satisfactorily complete a competency checklist.
Thereafter, the line therapist receives monthly evaluations by a lead therapist and participates in monthly team meetings with a supervisor.
