Training

At Project HOPE Foundation, we believe that quality training empowers people Using the same Applied Behavior Analysis principles that guide our therapeutic and education models, we present trainings that go above-and-beyond bare essentials. We provide autism-related trainings for a variety of targeted audiences:

  • Parents receive specific training at the start of an ABA therapy program. That training is continued each month in our individual team meetings. We provide additional crisis management training for groups of parents who need additional strategies. Additionally, we hold group trainings on subjects that are common issues for our parents.
     
  • Staff receive training throughout their careers with Project HOPE Foundation. Line therapists receive initial training (on-line, classroom, and hands-on) prior to working with clients. This training is ongoing, with regular overlaps by senior therapists and monthly team meetings. Additionally, we hold regular staff-wide training days to cover topics related to our general population of clients with autism. Senior therapists participate in additional training sessions and receive regular feedback from supervisors. We are particularly proud to offer a Master’s degree program for our lead therapists in collaboration with the Florida Institute of Technology. This program provides all the requirements necessary for participants to sit for the national certification exam to become Board Certified Behavior Analysts. Our supervisors attend numerous workshops to maintain their certification.
     
  • Clients can participate in supplemental trainings to develop skills. Our Hope Unleashed program includes a component for teaching youth and young adults with autism to train dogs, leading to increased communication, social, and vocational skills.
     
  • Community trainings are available for childcare providers, educators, faith-based organizations, or other groups. Trainings can be designed to address a range of topics, including: autism symptoms, ABA therapy, educational models, inclusion strategies, family support strategies, and community integration of individuals with autism.
