Each summer, Project HOPE Foundation offers a social group for teens with Asperger’s Syndrome. The group typically meets once per week, and the schedule is determined by the availability of the participants and their families. This social group is designed to be a safe place for teens to talk openly and honestly about their difficulties in relating to typically developing peers and adults in their lives. In the past, the group has utilized books written to help these teenagers understand and use various social and coping skills. Although moderated by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, the participants determine the content of the social groups. Teen social groups may also include local outings in Greenville and Simpsonville to practice social skills that are learned in the group. This social group is available to current clients.
