    Dear Parents,

As the school year draws to a close, we must first thank you for all the hours of volunteering, supporting our events and programs, and mostly, sharing your wonderful children with us.  They are all so special to us and we treasure our time with them in our classrooms.

The students are working hard on their parts in the end of the year program, which will be held Friday at 9:00 am. in the Advent Sanctuary.  The schedule for Friday is as follows:

8:30 am    Classroom recognition for Academy 1 (Ms. Teresa) and Academy 4 (Ms. Marydell)
9:00 am     End of the year program in the Sanctuary (the program will be recorded on DVD by
a videographer and you may purchase copies - order forms will be in the Sanctuary on Friday morning).
10:15 am (or at the end of the program)    Classroom recognition for Academy 2 (Ms. Brenda) and Academy 3 (Ms.
Christine) **Ms. Christine's class will be doing recognition in Room 108 in the main building**
10:00 am (or at the end of the program) All classes except Academy 2 and 3 will go to the CLC Gym for lunch.
12:00 pm (or following lunch)    Academy 5 and Virtual Hope class recognition in Room 108 in the main building.
Following lunch    Any families able to stay to help clean up the Gym and take down tables and chairs is VERY appreciated! (see needs below!)

Students are dismissed following lunch and/or classroom recognition.  We will not be having late stay of any sort.

    VOLUNTEER NEEDS:
On Thursday afternoon prior to afternoon pick-up (2:15pm), I am looking for a crew of people (the more people, the quicker the job - I'd like 4-5 people) to help setup the CLC Gym for our lunch on Friday.  We need to get out tables and chairs, so if some dads could help, that would be great.

On Friday, following lunch, if you are not involved in the Academy 5 and Virtual Hope class recognition, we'd need some families stay to help clean up the gym.  We need to put tables and chairs away, sweep, and clean up any food and trash from lunch.  I know many of you are anxious to hit the road, but the more people who can stay, the quicker we can clean it up!

I'd also like to have 1-2 volunteers this week to help move boxes out of the school for summer storage.  For those of you new to Hope, the classrooms turn back into church space for the summer!  We try to clear out as much as we can for their convenience.  If you have any extra boxes laying around your house, please drop them off at the school.

Please reply or call Elaine Van Hook at 676-0028 if you able to help with any of these needs.

We look forward to a great week finishing things up this year.  We hope you enjoy your week!

    Hello Parents,

We had a great time at the Breakathon on Saturday.  It was great to see all of you that were there!  A big thanks goes out to Master Kim and Michelle Kim at World Class Tae Kwon Do for donating the proceeds to Project HOPE Foundation and Hope Academy.  The students also had a great time last week when the Kim’s visited the school and did some Tae Kwon Do with the students.

The school was visited briefly this morning by Benton Blount, country music recording artist and friend of Hope, and the students sang Happy Birthday to Benton rather than him singing to the students!  Refer to an email from Lori Schur if you are interested in participating in a new project Benton has coming up.

This week,  we are celebrating our teachers with a week of appreciation.  Breakfast was brought in for them this morning and we have lunch planned for them on Wednesday (so you know for planning your own surprises!)  Other than that, the sky is the limit!  Have your children help and use their imagination and creativity to create some special moments for your teachers this year.

Our end-of-the-year program is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday, May 27.  Please join us for this special time for all the students.  Classroom recognition schedules will be sent out by your teacher (some will be before the program, some after to accommodate siblings).  Plan to join us for lunch in the CLC Gym to celebrate!

I am attaching the nomination form for the 2011 Hope Award.  Anyone associated with Project HOPE and Hope Academy can be nominated for this award (except Ms. Susan and Ms. Lisa), so please take a look at the form and make your nomination.  The recipient of this year's award will be announced at the end of the year program.

If you have photos from any Hope events, please share them with us!  You may send them in on a disc.  We'll even provide the discs if needed!

I hope you have a great week!  Please let us know if we can do anything for you.
