Dear Hope Families,

The halls were alive with the sound of music this morning as A4, A5, Virtual Hope, and Mauldin Service Learning students joined to make Hope Academy’s longest conga line!

Thank you to Kimberly Kibbe for bringing instruments to our music classes last Thursday.  A2, A3, and A4 enjoyed the chance to hear and hold a clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and French horn.  They all did an excellent job of being careful and taking turns.

We were delighted to welcome a group of nearly 30 people from Cryovac to tour the school on Friday as part of their United Way campaign.  Thanks to Christine Peebles and Sandy Teska for helping with the tours.

We enjoyed a visit from Benton Blount this morning.  Benton, a rising recording artist, befriended our school last year and plans on visiting regularly again this year.  Hear a sample of his music at: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=10150249579385231&ref=mf

In our first fire drill of the year, we were able to evacuate in only 63 seconds.  Congratulations to students and teachers for their cooperation!

We look forward to Donuts for Dads on Wednesday, September 29, starting at 8:00 a.m. in the CLC dining room.

Plan on joining us at Advent’s Hope Fest from 10-2 on October 30 for carnival games, fun activities, and great food.  We will need our families to help with donating baked goods for the cake walk and donating candy and other items for prizes.  Details coming soon!

We our excited about the upcoming Fall into Fashion fundraiser from 2:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, November 14.  Tickets are $25.  Ladies, consider gathering a group of friends to enjoy an afternoon together while supporting the programs of Project HOPE.  Gentlemen, earn brownie points by purchasing a ticket for the lady in your life.  Tickets are available at the Hope Academy Office.

If you are a runner looking for a team-building activity, check out the HOPE Relay at www.projecthopesc.org/hope-relay to be held on Saturday, November 13.  Early bird prices have been extended through October 15.  Go to http://www.projecthopesc.org/relay-blog to see video footage of some of the legs of the race.
